Affenpinscher Dog History The Affenpinscher dog is regularly described as the oldest toy breed. It is certainly thought that small rough-coated dogs have been known in Europe since at least the Sixteenth Century. Some believe that the dog portrayed in Van Eyck and Durer’s work are of affenpinscher type although several different toy breeds also lay claim to these works   The first substantiated accounts appear to be around the end of the 1800s. It appears that by this time the affenpinscher was well established in Germany particularly in the south, being valued for their entertainment value as well as their ratting and watchdog instincts. It was becoming increasingly popular in other parts of the continent, especially Belgium and France.   The Affenpinscher dog is believed to have contributed the Miniature Schnauzer and the Brussels griffon ancestry. However, WW1 decreased numbers. The breed has never really recovered in Germany and reached an all-time low of 7 registered in 1984.

Patterdale Terrier Dog Temperament The Patterdale Terrier Dog has been bred as a hunting dog and has bull terrier bloodlines, and these can often be reflected in its personality.   This dog can be pretty laid back, but is also a very determined, tough, and independent breed, and is not an easy animal to train. Lowchen Dog Breed Temperament Lively, affectionate, cheerful, sociable, and intelligent are just a few of the words that can be used to describe the Lowchen Dog Breed, which has also become known as the Lion Dog.   This is a gentle and very sensitive breed, but at the same time is fearless and bold. The breeds eagerness, ability and willingness to learn, and intelligence make training easier, but often these dogs can be a little stubborn, strong-willed, and arrogant, which can have the opposite effect.
