Bandaging a Cat Bandages are used to stop bleeding, to keep dirt and bacteria out of the wound, to keep the edges of the cut together, to support the injured area, and to keep your cat from scratching or excessively licking the wound. Bandages should not be so tight that circulation or breathing is compromised. If the wound isn’t clean when you can cover it with a bandage, you may hide a developing infection from early discovery, so get the cut clean and keep it clean.   A pressure bandage is any bandage applied with pressure. You can hold the bandage firmly with your hand or tie it in place. A Band-Aid is another pressure bandage. But it is limited to fairly small cuts and wounds.   Some cat owners leave bandages on too long. They should be changed frequently. Every day or two and whenever they become wet. It is probable that, in common with other giant breed dogs, Saint Bernard originates from ancient Tibet, where Tibetan Mastiffs guarded the monasteries. These dogs were acquired by other races and used as hunting and war dogs.   Alexander the Great probably introduced giant dogs to Europe. When Pyrrhus, heir of Alexander and King of Epirus, introduced the dogs to Italy, subsequently, the Romans called the dogs Molossus, after the town of Molossis in Epirus.     Saint Bernard is believed to be descended from the heavier of the Molossus types. Since the first century AD, they developed relatively purely in the isolated Swiss Valais region.   It is known that they were used for mountain rescue work at least since the 1700s by the monks of the Hospice Of the Great St Bernard; this Hospice was founded on the instruction of Archdeacon Bernard de Menthon to provide shelter and protection for travelers.   Characteristics Of Saint Bernard Dog

Devon Rex Cat is a fairly recent cat breed that originated from a genetic mutation about 10 years after the discovery of the Cornish Rex. The first Devon, called Karlee, was discovered in Buckfastleigh, Devon, England in 1960. It was first thought to be a Cornish Rex mutation. However, test mating with the Cornish proved that it was a different breed as only straight-haired kittens were produced. The “rex” or curly gene is quite different between the two breeds. Devon Rex Cat has a similar soft and wavy looking coat to the Cornish but Devon’s coat has all three types of fur (guard, awn and down) but the guard hairs are stunted. The coat is coarser and has a larger and looser curl and the body type is stockier with a distinctive “pixie” or “elfin” face. Devon’s face looks somewhat like Yoda from “Star Wars”. In 1967, Great Britain’s Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) recognized the distinction between the two breeds and registered them for competition as two distinct breeds.
